Vincent Pitta, Partner of Pitta & Baione LLP, received one of the 2016 Ellis Island Medals of Honor from the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO) on May 7th. The event marked the 30th annual ceremony for the organization, which presents awards annually to “distinguished American citizens who exemplify a life dedicated to community service…who preserve and celebrate the history, traditions and values of their ancestry while exemplifying the values of the American way of life, and who are dedicated to creating a better world for us all.”

The Ellis Island Medal of Honor has been recognized by both Houses of Congress as one of the nation’s most prestigious civilian awards. Past winners include Rosa Parks, Hillary Clinton, Colin Powell, Frank Sinatra, Muhammad Ali, Mariano Rivera, and six former US presidents.
