Founding partners Matthew J. Baione and Christopher J. Baione have been selected to the 2018 New York Metro Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. Matthew and Christopher have earned this distinction through Super Lawyer’s patented multiphase selection process involving independent research and peer nominations as well as 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement, including verdicts/settlements, transactions, experience, honors and awards, and education.

A founding partner of Pitta & Baione LLP, Christopher J. Baione graduated magna cum laude from St. John’s University’s Honors Program and as a Presidential Scholar from Seton Hall Law, Mr. Baione has devoted his entire professional legal career to representing the victims of the 9/11 terror attacks under the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act. Mr. Baione has developed a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Victim Compensation Fund’s complex and constantly changing processes. He is committed to advocating for his clients and improving the Victim’s Compensation Fund, which includes support of the Never Forget the Heroes Act.

A fellow founding partner of Pitta & Baione LLP, Matthew Baione graduated cum laude from St. John’s University in just two and a half years, Matthew attended the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and was the youngest member of his graduating class. Prior to founding Pitta & Baione, Mr. Baione was an associate at a law firm practicing complex real estate, construction, and commercial litigation and served as of counsel to a personal injury and employment firm. Since founding Pitta & Baione, he now dedicates his practice solely to compensation claims before the September 11th Victims Compensation Fund. He treats the Compensation Fund the same as the courtroom- applying litigation skills and strategy to best serve his clients from consultation to compensation.

Among other successful verdicts they’ve achieved on behalf of their clients, Christopher, Matthew, and the Pitta & Baione team recently obtained a 9/11 VCF award totaling over $3 million on appeal for a cancer victim they represented who was exposed to 9/11 toxins while working in an office building in Lower Manhattan during the months following the tragedy. To date, Pitta & Baione LLP has recovered over $45 million for 9/11 victims.

With their selection to Super Lawyers’ List of ‘2018 New York Metro Rising Stars,’ Christopher and Matthew join Pitta & Baione Managing Partner Vincent F. Pitta, who has been a Top-Rated Super Lawyer for many years.
