Pursuant to the reauthorized James Zadroga Health and Compensation Act, payments of full awards to over one thousand victims have been authorized by the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund. The awards to these claimants total over $230 million.
The payments will be made to “Group A” claimants, which includes only those victims who received “loss determination letters” on or before December 17, 2015.
The 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund plans to issue awards to all “Group A” claimants by June 2016.
