9/11 benefits attorneys Christopher and Matthew Baione were once again touted by Super Lawyers as “Rising Stars” in the New York metro area for their comprehensive and successful work for clients this year.

Super Lawyers publishes the list annually, citing no more than 2.5 percent of lawyers as Rising Stars per state. The designation is based on surveys, peer reviews and professional performance.

Christopher and Matthew are founding partners at Pitta & Baione, a 9/11 benefits law firm that helps September 11th responders and survivors get compensation, healthcare and other benefits. They have dedicated their professional lives to helping people and families who were impacted by one of the darkest days in our country’s history.

“Super Lawyers recognizes attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their legal practice,” the legal rating service said in letters notifying Matthew and Christopher of the honor. “Our patented selection process is rigorous and results in third-party validation of your professional accomplishments.”

Christopher Baione

This is the third year that Christopher Baione has been named to the Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” list. A native New Yorker, Christopher has also been hailed by clients for his commitment, compassion, experience and ability to get results.

Christopher co-manages the firm’s September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (VCF) practice. The VCF provides financial compensation to 9/11 responders, survivors and their families.

“I am honored to have been selected again as a Super Lawyers Rising Star,” Christopher said. “I remain fully committed to the 9/11 community and look forward to future years of continued advocacy.”

Matthew Baione

Matthew Baione has also been cited as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers for the third consecutive year. Clients praise Matthew’s commitment to making personal connections to understand each individual’s situation and needs, along with his professional approach and proven track record of results.

Matthew manages the firm’s appellate practice and exigent circumstances division. Some individuals seeking VCF benefits may need to appeal an initial decision to establish eligibility, and Matthew works to ensure that they get the full benefits available.

“Thank you to Super Lawyers for the recognition, to our amazing clients for the confidence, to St. John’s University and Cardozo Law for the education, and to my partners for the mentorship,” Matthew said. “Serving as a counsel to 9/11 victims is the privilege of a lifetime.”
